ABOUT
I am a furniture designer-maker based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. My work challenges the standardized idea of furniture, and instead suggests functions that are neither explicit nor expected. Encoded motifs from my surroundings amass to reflect back a foggy view of the built and natural world.
I intentionally relate the furniture works to an end context — be it to the delimiting walls of an interior space, or to the vast and complex arena that is our natural environment. My interest in the discourse of object and space derives from ideas of architectural phenomenology, the poetic experience of dwelling. This lens guides me, as I deconstruct the criteria written by societal demands and the history of domestication.
I am a graduate of Oberlin College, Art History and Mathematics (2014), and the California College of Arts, Furniture (2020).
